Penestrino
Penestrino is mentioned by Guido da Montefeltro in Inferno XXVII, in the comparison with Boniface VIII: just as Penestrino throws something to the ground, so Boniface struck Guido down with his words.
Description
In Canto XXVII of the Inferno, during the dialogue between Guido da Montefeltro and Boniface VIII, verse 102 introduces Penestrino as a term of comparison to describe the effect of the pope's words, which overthrow Guido with the same force with which Penestrino throws something to the ground. The image, placed immediately after verses 97-101, fits into the scene of the 'proud fever' that moves Boniface, of his 'extraordinary silence' broken and of the pope's illusion of being able to absolve Guido in advance from sin.
