Federigo Tignoso, remembered by Guido Guinizzelli as a neighbor and contemporary of whom the stamp has been lost in the purgatorial passage of the Cornice of the Envious.

In Canto XIV of the Purgatorio, during the encounter with Guido Guinizzelli on the cornice of the envious, the Romagnol poet interrupts his confession to recall the worthy men he has known. At verse 106, together with his brigade, Federigo Tignoso is named. According to the ancient notes, Federigo was from Rimini and was nicknamed Tignoso by antiphrasis because of his magnificent blond hair. His house was always open to the good and the honest. Tradition counts him among the neighbors and contemporaries of Guinizzelli, cited as an example of those nobles of whom the stamp has been lost.
