Campi is a Tuscan locality mentioned by Cacciaguida in the list of lands from which his ancient fellow citizens descended, together with Certaldo and Fegghine.
Description
In the sixteenth canto of Paradiso, Cacciaguida recalls the origins of the Florentine families that populated his city, listing where they came from. Among these, alongside Certaldo and Fegghine, Campi appears, indicated as one of the localities from which those progenitors came. The name is inserted in a series describing the ancient ethnic composition of Florence, marking the rural provenance of some of its oldest citizens. The only piece of information that can be drawn from the anchor verse is Campi's belonging to this group of places of origin of the ancient Florentine lineages.
